Case Study
How we helped Alharaca StoryLab find the story at the heart of their European mission — and built the strategy, brand, and tools to make it land.
Project Overview
From media outlet to narrative innovation lab
Alharaca StoryLab is a narrative innovation lab rooted in Latin America, now operating in Europe. Through live journalism events, interactive formats, and educational workshops, they turn passive audiences into active communities — at a time when Europe needs it most. When they transitioned to Europe, they had a first prototype but lacked a cohesive strategy to scale their vision. UNGARDEN Studio provided the roadmap: we helped them transform scattered ideas into a clear brand and strategic framework, moving from passive broadcasting to participatory experiences.
Project Challenge
Equipping the brand & story for a new venture
Europe’s current crisis of "democratic fatigue" has led 40% of people to avoid the news out of a sense of powerlessness. Alharaca StoryLab sought to counter this apathy but lacked a strategic framework for the European market. We helped them bridge the gap, taking their existing product offer and building the narrative and brand identity necessary to position it as a powerful, fundable tool for active civic participation.
Solution
Phase One - DIG
We conducted a deep diagnostic of the European landscape through a Landscape Mapping and Tension Analysis to identify the "cracks" where Alharaca StoryLab’s proposal could take root. This research revealed a profound emotional disconnect in current democratic narratives, allowing us to position Alharaca StoryLab as the necessary bridge to reconnect citizens with the value of their own democracy.
Solution
Phase Two - SEED
We facilitated a strategic workshop to define Alharaca StoryLab's core DNA and Impact Value Proposition. We uncovered the value behind their existing offer and translated their internal expertise into a clear, institutional-facing offering. Together we defined their core audiences and built the strategic narrative that answers the most urgent questions — who they are, why they matter, and how their products solve the problems Europe is trying to address.
Solution
Phase Three - GROW
We translated strategy into a professional brand identity that honors Alharaca StoryLab's vibrant Latin American roots while meeting European standards. By developing a Brand Book including a clear Messaging Framework, and a Pitch Deck, we built the narrative that packaged their methodology into a scalable, innovation-focused mission.
Solution
Phase Four - BLOOM
In the final stage, we designed a 90-day Go-to-Market roadmap for Alharaca StoryLab's first European pilot in a key city like Berlin. Our goal was to ensure Alharaca StoryLab could immediately begin activating its new European ecosystem and start its transnational work.
Project Results
01
A brand with a clear story
Alharaca StoryLab now has a complete identity — visual, verbal, and strategic — built for European audiences and rooted in a feminist, Latin American perspective only they can claim.
02
A fundable, scalable offer
Their live journalism events, interactive formats, and educational workshops are now packaged as a clear offering that can be commission and funded.
